Following a three day jury trial in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Siana Law partner Sherry Brown recently obtained a jury verdict in favor of its client for over $313,000 in a breach of contract claim. Additionally, the Court Amended the Judgment to include over $189,000 worth of contractual interest; and granted the Motion for Attorney’s Fees and Costs of approximately $159,000 making the total award over $661,000.
The client, a staffing services company, asserted a breach of contract claim against a trash and recycling company for failing to remit payment on invoices for work performed by its employees. To counter the failure to pay, the trash and recycling company asserted that the work was not performed as invoiced; asserting its own breach of contract counterclaim.
After approximately one hour of deliberations, the jury rendered a verdict in favor of Siana Law’s client awarding the full amount of the unpaid invoices. The jury rejected the trash and recycling companies’ counterclaim; determining that the staffing services company did not breach the agreement.
The trash and recycling company filed post-trial motions; all of which were denied.
